Welcome to the Martial Arts City directory of clubs & classes around the UK. I am not affiliated with any of them, I am just linking to them for reference in case you are interested in joining a club very local to you and don’t know where to start.
What’s it all about?
This directory began as a list of clubs that I was either already familiar with or was thinking of checking out while living or working nearby.
Today it’s far from an exhaustive database for each featured location, and is long overdue an update.
Styles – Most of the clubs currently featured on this site do Tai Chi, Wing Chun, Jeet Kune Do, Judo, Aikido, Boxing or Kickboxing, because these were the arts that I was most keen to practise at the time of building this site which began with this directory.
Locations – This directory is currently focused on a select few locations which are mainly places where I lived, worked and visited regularly a few years ago.
What’s the point?
Whenever I move home, or frequent a new location regularly, I tend to briefly research the local martial arts clubs to see what options are available in the area. Because everyone needs a place to train, and the best teachers remain humble lifelong students so they can forever continue improving. And a great teacher can learn something from anyone – even casual feedback from a beginner student can reshape the way an experienced master looks at his art if he keeps an open mind – especially if being balanced & natural is his priority.
